Type 1 diabetes

Just like Type 1 diabetes has a first day, this blog has its first day.

My name is Katie and my daughter Anna was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on March 30, 2015.  As this first year passed, I learned a lot.  Enough that I thought it was best to start a blog just in case these stories might help others.

If nothing else, this will be an opportunity to teach Anna about blogging, websites, photo editing, writing, and all those other important skills that she might want to access for the future college applications.

  1. I just stumbled into your blog, which was recommended from the Loop FB page in my search for Open APS vs Loop. Oh my goodness- our stories are so similar! My now 13 y/o T1 daughter was dx’d Oct ’15. We had just moved across the country and thought the pre-D signs were all explainable by homesickness, maybe some depression and thirst bc we moved from OH to Phoenix (did I mention it was August and 115 degrees?). We totally missed it. Anyways, thanks for your blog- it is like re-reading our own life. And I am in infant stages of researching DIY AP so your comparison helped also. Much love, momma. Amy
